Privacy
Last updated 7 October 2026. This page describes what the EZ AI Dev app and this website do with your information.
What stays on your PC
- Your chats, settings and project files.
- Your API keys for AI providers.
- Your FTP login, if you choose to save it. The password is encrypted for your Windows account.
What is sent to AI providers
When you use a cloud model, your messages and the files or code the AI reads are sent to the provider you selected, using your own key. That provider's terms and privacy policy apply. When you use a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, nothing is sent off your PC.
If the setting Allow AI internet access is on, the AI can fetch web pages while it works. Turn it off to stop that.
What is sent to the licence server
When you activate a licence key, and about once a month after that, the app sends:
- your licence key,
- an anonymous device ID, which is a one-way hash and not your hardware serial number,
- your PC's name, so you can tell your own machines apart if you ask us to move a key,
- the app's version number.
The server also records the time and the IP address of each activation attempt, to stop key guessing and sharing. During the free trial nothing is sent.
Purchases
Payments are handled by the payment company shown at checkout. We receive your email address and what you bought so we can send your key, and we never see your card details.
